| Abstract: | 5-bromo-2-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde was prepared by bromization and formylation of N,N-dimethylaniline.Chiral amino alcohol polydentate ligand was synthesized from 5-bromo-2-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde and chiral amino alcohol derived from L-leucine.The products were characterized by IR,MS and 1H-NMR spectra and were evaluated as chiral solvating agent for chiral carboxylic acid such as ibuprofen and mandelic acid. |
