Abstract:Bisphenol A epoxy sulphonate(AMPS-EP) has been synthesized by using 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-propanesulfonic acid(AMPS) and bisphenol A-type epoxy resin(EP).A variety of factors of the reaction were investigated and the optimum condition was determined.The optimum conditions:N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF) as solvent,the molar ratio of AMPS and epoxy materials is 1∶0.5,hydroquinone as inhibitor,amount of 0.2%(wt) of EP,reaction time 5 h,reaction temperature 70℃.The products were characterized by FT-IR and DSC.The results show more 93% of epoxy groups and sulfonic groups took part in the reaction,about 82% of acrylamide groups retained finally and the glass transition temperature of AMPS-EP was 57℃.At the range of reaction temperature,the progression of the reaction was one;the apparent activation energy was 9.76 kJ/mol.
