| Abstract: | 2-Methyl-6-isopropylnaphthalene was synthesized through the alkylation of 2-methylnaphthalene with isopropanol in the presence of HUSY zeolite,an active and selective catalyst for 2,6-isomer.The product was then purified by the eutectic crystallization and solvent crystallization processes.The molecular structure of 2-methyl-6-isopropylnaphthalene was elucidated by mass spectrometry,~1H,~(13)C and several 2D NMR techniques(gCOSY,gHSQC,gHMBC),respectively.The ~1H and ~(13)C NMR chemical shifts of 2-methyl-6-isopropylnaphthalene were assigned. |
