INVESTIGATION OF THE GRADIENT EFFECT AND THEORY FOR CONFIGURATION OF GC COLUMN

Multi-stage gradient column with varying loading and length has been treated theoretically from the view point of retention time. The theoretical equation of the gradient effect is derived and computer program is given. A "u, v, table" accordingly is made when n value is uniform. The "u, v table" is verified experimentally using a good many of gradient columns in two-dimensional space. Innumerable configuration of gradient column are obtained when n value is variable in three-dimensional space. The y value and corresponding configuration of a gradient column all can be obtained on a computer. Theory for configuration of GC column is revealed.
