| Abstract: | A linear titration equation for determination of weak acids in the presence of small amounts of a strong acid is derived. The titration is performed potentiometrically. Equal volumes of the titrant are added stepwisely. More satisfactory results are obtained from the determination of an extremely weak acid such as boric acid which is mixed with small amounts of hydrochloric acid. Therefore, the method is applicable to the pharmaceutical analysis for the determination of drugs with extremely weak acidity by eliminating the effect of micro amounts of free strong acid. |
