Alkylation of furan by olefins

IR and Raman spectra of 17 mono- and polyalkyl furans, with alkyl groups in various positions in the furan ring, are investigated. A change in Raman spectrum is found for C-H bond valence vibrations when alkyl groups substitute the furan ring at the position. Characteristic frequencies are found for 2-substituted and 2, 5-disubstituted furans.For part VI see 6].
