Abstract:The intramolecular hydrogen bonding of 18,19-anhydro-sapogenindimethyl ester of Ilexsaponin A,the hydrolysis product of a new triterpenoid saponin isolated from Ilex pubescens Hook et Am,was studied by infrared spectroscopic tech-nique,and an assignment was made of its stereochemical configurations on the basisof comparison the effect of concetrations and the peak shift before and after deuterra-tion.Included in this paper is a detailed discussion on the optimum experimental con-ditions,such as sample concentrations,thickness of sample cells and so on,necessaryfor carrying out the determination.
