Synthesis of 3-alkyl/aryl-6-(3'-pyridyl)-s-triazolo[3, 4-b]-1, 3, 4- thiadiazoles |

| Abstract: | By the condensation of 3-alkyl/aryl-4-amino-5-mercapto-1, 2, 4- triazoles (2a～g/3h ～p) with nicotinic acid in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride, sixteen new compounds of 3-alkyl/aryl-6-(3'- pyridyl)-s-triazolo3, 4-b]-1, 3, 4-thiadiazoles 4a-p were synthesized. Their structures were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, ^1H NMR and MS spectroscopy. Some of these compounds were preliminary screened for fungical and herbicidal activities. |
