Abstract:This paper reports a buoyant photocatalyst of nano sized TiO 2 loaded on the hollow ceramic microbeads by silane coupling. The morphology was observed by SEM, and the amount of TiO 2 bound to the beads was determined by spectrophotometry. Percentage moles of octane remaining in the solution phase after UV irradiation was analyzed by GC. It was observed that more than 90% of the octane photodecomposed in 60 min.
