Abstract:Biodegradable poly(hexylene sebacate) co (hexylene adipate) with high intrinsic viscosity was synthesized by one pot polycondensation of sebacic acid and adipic acid with 1,6 hexylenediol in a yield of 96%. The chemical structure of the copolymer was characterized by FTIR and 1 H NMR. The DSC result shows that the melting point and crystallization temperature of the copolymer decreased with the increase in HA content, and both exhibit the minimum values while x (HA) reachs 60%. It was also found by TG that PHA in the copolymer was easier decomposed, but no effect on the thermal decomposition of PHSe was observed on the copolymerization.
