Abstract:Toughening of epoxy resin by incorporation of PnBA/PMMA core/shell structure impact modifier was studied.It is found that the impact strength of epoxy resin is substantially enhanced by the addition of impact modifier.For the phthalic anhydride cured system.adding 30 parts of impact modifier to 100 parts of epoxy resin has changed the mode of fracture from brittle to ductile in Izod impact test,and the impact strength has increased by a factor of 30.
