Abstract:A new niobate compound K6Zr2Nb14O42 was synthesized by solid state reaction for the first time. The chemical compositions, crystal structure, optical property, solubility, density and melting point of the new compound were characterized by EPMA, TEM, XRD, DTA and so on. K6Zr2Nb14O42 crystallizes the hexagonal system with unit cell parameters a=0.91607(4)nm, c=1.21136(8) nm and space group P63/mcm(193), Z=1.
