  • Abstract:We present, a model to calculate sound transmission through plates perforated with periodically distributed subwavelength holes. Measurements performed using aluminium-perforated plates immersed in water are compared to predictions obtained with the calculation model. The calculated results agree well with experimental ones. It is also showed, both experimentally and numerically, that the number of the transmission peaks, related to the Fabry-Pérot resonances, depends on the plate thickness. Finally the existence of a transmission dip, when the water wavelength is equal to the array period, is a manifestation of the Wood anomaly.
