An efficient Legendre-Galerkin spectral method for the natural convection in two-dimensional cavities

Abstract:An efficient numerical method is developed for solving the natural convection in two-dimensional cavities. The numerical scheme is proposed by using second-order projection scheme in time direction and Legendre-spectral in spatial variable of the incompressible flow. Finally, a series of numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of our algorithm. The numerical strategies developed in this article could be readily applied to study other incompressible fluid problems.
