Abstract:This paper presents the effect of longitudinal vortices(a single vortex, upwash vortex pair and dowash vortex pair) on turbulent flow near wall region with LDV methods. In downwash region, the fluid with higher streamwise velocity and lower turbulent intensity moves toward the wall; while in the upwash region,the fluid with lower streamwise velocity and higher turbulent intensity moves away from the wall.
