| Abstract: | The emission spectra of PbF2, PbCl2 and PbBr2 monocrystals are measured under optical and X-ray excitation at liquid helium temperature. Certain emission bands are attributed to the radiative transitions in the self-trapped cation exciton (excited Pb2+ion). The increase of trapped exciton via electron-hole recombination is discussed. |
