Abstract: | Investigations have been made on the electro-optic modulation of a laser beam using Bragg reflection from holographic gratings stored in a Cu-diffused LiNbO3 plate. A new device configuration is proposed which makes it possible to use the holographic recording characteristics of LiNbO3 more effectively than previous other devices. A modulation of about 50% with a 45° deflection angle was obtained at an applied voltage of 500 V. |
