Nondestructive quality testing of fruit

The application of physical technologies such as acoustics,optics,electronics and x-rays in the nondestructive assessment of fruit quality is reviewed. Their value in the production, fast sorting and post-harvest processing of fruit is analyzed. It is shown that there is great demand for the further development of these techniques for farm products, especially fruit. New physics technologies will help maintain the continuous growth of our agricultural economy.
