Abstract: | A diagnostic method is proposed wherein the momentum distribution of electrons emanating essentially in a single plane from
a photoionization zone of small geometrical dimensions is measured at two different angles relative to the beam axis. To implement
the method for a high-current beam of low-energy neutral particles (tens to hundreds of kiloelectron-volts for hydrogen or
deuterium atoms), a device is proposed which is capable of real-time, nonperturbative measurement of the distributions of
the particles with respect to momentum, over the beam cross section, and in transverse phase space.
