Near-infrared bands of S2: 3Πgi-3Σu+ system

Vibrational and rotational analyses of the near-infrared bands of S₂ lying in the region 7440–8085 Å are reported. They form a new band system involving a ${}^3\text{Π}{}_{\mathrm{gi}}\text{-}{}^3\text{Σ}{}_{\mathrm{u}}{}^{\mathrm{+}}$ transition and arise from the same initial ³Π_gi state of the ³Π_gi-³Δ_ui band system reported earlier. The analyses of the bands of this system due to the isotopic molecules ³²S³⁴S and ³⁴S₂ are also reported.
