Synthesis of polyacrylamide modified magnetic nanoparticles and radiolabeling with 188Re for magnetically targeted radiotherapy

Magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized, modified with polyacrylamide, and then characterized by TEM, FTIR, VSM and PCS. Rhenium-188 (¹⁸⁸Re) was bound to the nanoparticles by imidazolyl groups of histidine immobilized on the surface. The labeling yield was about 90% with good in vitro stability. Such nanoparticles might be useful for magnetically targeted radiotherapy.
