| Abstract: | The theoretical basis, calculation procedures and advantages of genetic algo- rithms are briefly introduced. As an example of their applications, the elastic constants of a unidirectional fiber composite plate are inversely deduced by the genetic algorithms from ultrasonic velocity measurements. The elastic constants obtained are demonstrated to have higher accuracy compared with our previous results. |
