INVESTIGATION OF ULTRASONIC RELAXATION ABSORPTION IN MOLECULAR CRYSTALS

摘    要:The general formulation of ultrasonic absorption in a relaxation medium is discussed in thispaper.By taking account of transitions between all neighbouring energy levels of internal oscilla-tors a new calculation of ultrasonic absorption coefficients in molecular crystals is given.Ultrasonicabsorption coefficents for crytalline naphthalene are estimatd for different temperatures in termsof improved theory.Good agreement is found between the predicted values and experimental resultson the temperature dependence of the absorption coefficient.
