Structural Investigation of Azobenzene Monolayers on Silver Island Films Using Surface Enhanced Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy |

| Abstract: | Abstract Monolayers on silver island films of an azobenzene derivative, C 8H 17 Φ N=N Φ O (CH 2) 3 COOH (referred as ABD), were fabricated by Self Assembly (SA) and Langmuir Blodgett(LB) technique, respectively. The structural characterization of these monolayers was performed by Surface Enhanced Infrared Spectroscopy (SEIRS) and Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), it was found that the differently prepared ABD monolayers showed alomost identical structural properties in terms of the packing order of alkyl chains and the interfacial COO -+ Ag linkage. |
