Raman Spectroscopic Study of Solvent Dependence of EDTA－Molybdenum Complex |

| Abstract: | Abstract Ethylenediaminetetraacetate （EDTA）forms a very strong complex with molybdenum，But the length and the disassociation of the EDTA-metal bond largely depend on the polarity of solvents，such as water， water-methy 1alcohole and water-dioxane. As the Raman bands near 890 and 9 1 0cm~(_1)in-volved the metal-nitrogen stretching frequencies， the existence and disassocia-tion of metal－acetate group and metal-nitrogen coordinated bands were proved. Meanwhile， metalacetat group bands are decreased in strength and partially disassociated accompanied by decreasing the polarity of solvents according to water， watermethvlalcohole and waterdioxane， but the metal－nitrogen do not show an obvious disassociation with the change of solvents. |
