Abstract:Three all-optical bypass exchange switches are presented. Among them, one is constructed by using phase only modulation of Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs) and the other two are based on electro-optic effect of crystal. The switch utilizing photorefractive crystal Potassium Sodium Strontium Barium Niobate: Cerium (KNSBN:Ce) is demonstrated in great detail. Its crosstalk resulting from change of input light intensity is given. The power attenuation and the interconnection ability of the switch are discussed.
