| Abstract: | Self-magneto optic Q switching operation of a Nd: BGO laser endpumped by a CW 500 mW laser--diode has been demonstrated. Nd: BGO is a promising laser material that combines the excellent laser properties of Nd3' ion with the magneto--optic properties of BGO, this permits the desgin of interesting self-- Q --switched laser devices. The deviceoperates at the repetition rate of 1 kHz with pulse energy of ioJ and pulse duration of 1 00us.The fluctuation of shot to shot intensity is less than 1 1 %. |
