| Abstract: | The effective mass ratios of the heavy and light holes at the band edge of p-type gallium phosphide have been determined by submillimetre cyclotron resonance at 77 K. The values obtained are 0.54 ± 0.05 and 0.16 ± 0.02 respectively. A comparison is made with k.p calculations of these quantities. |
