| Abstract: | The paper provides theoretical analysis of planar antiresonant reflecting optical waveguides (ARROWs) with thin cores. It is shown that the appropriate choice of the cladding system parameters enables fabrication of thin-core ARROWs with all desired properties, such as low-loss single-mode operation and high refractive-index sensitivity of ARROW mode attenuation. |
