Abstract:The deformation and breakup of a viscous drop immersed in an ambient simple shear flow is studied,in which the interface is captured by using volume-of-fluid method and the surface tension is calculated based on the continuum surface force(CSF) model.General second-order projection method with a staggered mesh is developed to simulate incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with the surface tension as a source term.For capillary numbers greater than the critical value,and low Reynolds number,the procedure of...
