ELECTRON IMPACT IONIZATION OF A HYDROGENIC ION AT INTERMEDIATE AND LOW ENERGIES

Abstract:The triple differential cross sections for electron impact ionization of hydrogenic ions in coplanar asymmetric geometry at intermediate and low energies have been calculated by the modified BBK model. The long range Coulomb interaction occuring in the initial channel has been taken into account. It has been found that the recoil peak becomes larger as the incident energy decreases.
