Abstract: | A U(2) algebraic model is presented to study highly excited vibrations of both OH stretch of H 2O and ON stretch of NO 2. In a limit, the model corresponds to an anharmonically coupled local model. The U(2) algebraic model provides a six parameter fit to the experimental data with smaller standard deviations than that of the correspnding anharmonically coupled local mode model. |
