Pressure independence of intensity clamping during filamentation: theory and experiment

Abstract:Because of the dynamic equilibrium between Kerr self-focussing and plasma induced defocusing and the inexistence of collisional ionization the critical intensity during femtosecond laser filamentation in air is independent of pressure.
