| Abstract: | This communication examines the theoretical basis for estimating the maximum gain of proposed millimeter-wave antenna systems when the space available for such antennas in the submarine mast is fixed. Limits derived in Harrington's classic paper are found to be applicable. The role of the gain-bandwidth product in assessing the system performance is also discussed. |
