摘    要:分析了小波及分形在图形压缩编码中的特点 ,构造了Haar小波树 ,提出基于分形的小波域图像压缩编码的算法。实验证明 :该方法在相近的压缩比的情况下 ,使重建图像的PSNR增加 4 1,图像压缩速度明显提高 ,并且重建图像的主观视觉质量也优于JPEG。

Abstract:The characteristics of wavelet and fractal for image compression coding are studied at first. Haar wavelet subtrees is built The conventional fractal coding in spatial domain is extended to wavelet domain by employing the self-similarities between different wavelet subtrees through proper affine transformation Further, in order to achieve a good trade off between image quality and compression ratio, an adaptive partition algorithm is given which can split the wavelet subtree into children subtrees according to local image complexity Experimental results show that the new hybrid image compression algorithm can obtain much better coding performance in terms of PSNR and subjective quality as compared to JPEG at roughly the same compression rate
