| Abstract: | The gain characteristics of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier are investigated as a function of pump wavelength with a Ti;sapphire tunable laser. While keeping pump power constant, the optimum pump wavelength can be chosen by varying the pump wavelength between 780 and 840 nm. The results of a gain higher than 35 dB using the 807 nm pump band are obtained. |
