| Abstract: | The aberration of gradient index (GRIN) rod lenses induced by deviation from the ideal refractive index distribution is decreased by optimized thermal diffusion. The index distribution coefficients are estimated by a novel method. The lenses' heat treatment process and aberration testing system are described. |
