Abstract:Due to the unique and tunable optical properties, gold nanorods have potential and important applications in the biomedical field. In this paper, gold nanorods with the aspect ratio 8 were prepared, an outstanding fluorescence feature of the gold nanorods excited at 480 nm was observed in terms of a strong fluorescence emission at 707 nm and a relatively weak fluorescence at 560 nm. Based on their fluorescence properties, HepG2 cells were labeled by this type of gold nanorods, and were studied by using laser scanning confocal microscope. Green and red fluorescence images of gold nanorods were collected under the excitation of 488 nm. Furthermore, high-resolution atomic force microscopy was used to obtain the morphology and mechanical properties changes of the HepGz cells.
