| Abstract: | A general class of nonlinear best approximation problems on C(X) is considered, from the point of view of existence and characterization of solutions. The general framework is such that it embraces a wide range of problems, including those of simultaneous approximation, mixed norm approximation, additive weight approximation and metric approximation. |
