The marshall and stoyan bounds for IMRL/G/1 queues are tight

Abstract:Previously established upper and lower bounds for the mean waiting time in a GI/G/1 queue given an interarrival-time distribution with increasing mean residual life are shown to be tight. Distributions for which the inequalities become equalities are displayed. The corresponding bounds for DMRL distributions are not tight.
