Abstract:It is well-known that the Perron root of a nonnegative irreducible matrix A lies between the smallest and the largest rows of A.This result is generalized to the case when the matrix A is partitioned into blocks.On the other hand,a new lower bound for the Perron root of a nonnegative matrix is obtained which generalizes the existent result.
