He is a Fellow of the British Academy. Roger Luxton is Head of Inspection and Advisory Services in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Many schools in that authority have been involved in substantial experimental reforms in the teaching of mathematics, working in collaboration with the National Institute of Economic and Social Research
