On Λ-type doubling in multiplet states of diatomic molecules

Explicit expressions valid in the neighborhood of Hund's case (a) and (b) are obtained for the width of Λ-type doubling of multiplet Π terms up to septet multiplicity. Moreover, a relation between the constants occurring in the expressions of Hund's cases (a) and (b) is given.
