Abstract: | Electrodes modified by polypyrrole with the imobilized complex Ni(cyclam)Cl2 have been obtained by means of the electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole in a solution containing the complex of nickel with 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (cyclam). It has been shown by means of preparative electrolysis that such electrodes can serve as an efficient electrocatalytic system for the reduction of CO2: the potential and rate of the catalyzed process differ only slightly from the case of homogeneous catalysis, but the number of catalytic cycles is increased significantly.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Éksperimental'naya Khimiya, Vol. 26, No. 1, pp. 46–51, January–February, 1990.We express our sincerest thanks to V.
