Abstract:The mechanism of atomization for cobalt sulfate on the graphite probe surface in graphite furnace has been studied by using X-ray diffraction(XRD) spectrometry,scanning electron micrography (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), as well as graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. It is shown that cobalt sulfate can be changed into oxide during its charring period, the atomic vapor is produced due to reduction of oxide by carbon on the probe surface.
