Effect of Solubilization-Hydrotrope Action on Corrosion Behavior of Nickel in CTAB/n-C5Hl1OH/Vc/H2O Micelle System

Abstract:The effect of solubilization-hydrotrope action of vitamin C (Vc) on the corrosion behavior of nickel is studied by electrochemical and SEM methods in a CTAB/n-C5Hl1OH/Vc/H2O micelle system. With the increase of Vc content, the solubilization-hydrotrope action and the corrosion rates of nickel increase. But the pure resistance of the system and the differential capacitance on nickel surface decrease. The effect in the CTAB/n-C5Hl1OH/HCl/H2O system is less than that in the CTAB/n-C5Hl1OH/H2O system.  id=
