Abstract: | A three-dimensional shock layer near the blunt surface of a fairly smooth body is analyzed asymptotically. Equations of the first approximation are obtained and justified in various cases of the limit 1, 0, ( – 1)–1M-2 0. These equations are simplified for the flow near the stagnation point of a body with double curvature and near the blunt leading edge of a sweptback wing.
