Abstract:The catalytic properties in H2O2 decomposition of the Cu2+-chelates of 2- Acetyl-3-hydroxy-thiophene (I) and 3-Acetyl-4-hydroxy-thiophene (II) have been investigated. Evidence is given that the catalytic activity of the chelates is a function of the respective bond orders of the α, β (I) and β, β′ (II) thiophene bonds of the chelate ring.
