Blue Upconversion Luminescence from Yb3+-doped Oxyfluoride Vitroceramics Excited by 960nm Laser

Abstract:This paper investigates the upconversion luminescence of Yb3+-doped oxyfluoride vitroceramics excited by 960 nm diode laser. A new upconversion cooperative radiation luminescence is found, which is rather strong and positioned at 479.5 nm. It comes from a coupled state of two Yb3+ ion cluster. It is of significance due to the effective method to obtain compact blue light.
