| Abstract: | Magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole interactions of Tm ions in TmTe, observed by Mössbauer spectroscopy at low temperature, are similar to those for the free ion limit of the 2F ground multiplet of Tm2+. The Tm2+ ions have symmetries that are noncubic. |
